Tourist and Topographic Maps
Excellent maps can be bought at the FTM (Foiben-Taosarintanin'i Madagasikara)
in Ambanidia (A 3,000FMG/$2 cab ride from downtown). Among the scales available
are:
- 1:1,000,000 road and relief maps (4 sheets cover the country);
- 1:500,000 road and relief maps (12 sheets cover the country);
- 1:100,000 and 1:50,000 topographic maps;
- 1:10,000 street maps of important towns.
Typical cost of a topographic map: 2,200-4000 FMG/ $1.50-$2.50.
